The great thing about the Ford Mustang is that it's always been easy to turn it into exactly the car you want. This 2008 Ford Mustang GT delivers supercar levels of performance thanks to a supercharged V8, yet retains all the comfort and convenience items we demand today, all wrapped in one of the most attractive packages in recent years.

The Mustang GT is a popular car because it delivers awesome V8 power at a reasonable price, and this cool GT takes that concept and turns it up to 11. More power, more style, more comfort, more, well, everything, is standard equipment here. Dressed in black, it certainly looks the part of a predator, and the finish quality is quite good, matching the newer paint with the OEM stuff in a seamless way. Yes, there's plenty of recent black paint, which was necessary due to the extensive body mods, including the front air dam, hood, and deck lid spoiler, all of which give this Mustang a hyper-aggressive look. Dealer-installed Boss decals emulate the 1970 Boss 302 performance look, along with traditional details like the hood pins and auxiliary driving lights in the center of the grille. You also get scoops on the C-pillar and quarter panels, emulating the Shelby Mustangs of the '60s, making for one of the best-looking late-model Mustangs we've seen in quite a while.

The Boss theme continues inside, and with the upgrades here you know this wasn't a cut-rate build. The two-tone leather seats look good with only very minor wear that's commensurate with its age and mileage, another sign that this car has led a pretty easy life. The gauges and steering wheel are stock, but when things look this good there's really no need for upgrades. There is, however, a big Hurst cue ball knob and high-performance shifter in the center console managing a 5-speed manual transmission, suggesting that the guy who built this car was serious about getting things right. The A/C is cold, the AM/FM/CD stereo sounds great, and it's loaded with features like a tilt wheel, power windows and locks, and cruise control. In back, the trunk is virtually untouched, including the spare tire neatly stowed under the floor.

There's big horsepower under the domed hood, complements of a Magnuson twin-screw Magnacharger sitting on top of the engine. Working in conjunction with a set of Comp Camps "Mutha Thumpa" camshafts, 38 lb-hr fuel injectors, an oversized 98mm MAF sensor, and a custom computer programmer, this 4.6 liter V8 is considerably more powerful than stock. However, all that added power doesn't seem to come with a down-side, because it starts easily, idles well, doesn't get fussy in traffic, and pulls like a freight train when you have room to really open it up. Workmanship is excellent throughout, with OEM levels of fit and finish on the hardware and service access is still decent despite the added equipment. The 5-speed manual gearbox doesn't seem to mind the added power thanks to an aluminum flywheel and Ram 600 clutch, and with 4.10 gears out back, it launches like a slingshot. The exhaust is upgraded with a set of Flo Pro Max mufflers that sound spectacular and you'll be shocked by just how clean this car is underneath. 20-inch Foose wheels add some sparkle to the all-black Boss and carry 255/40/20 Toyo performance radials.
