SUPER COOL & HARD TO FIND MERCURY, FORD F-1 SIBLING, 239 FLATHEAD V8, COOL!

Time to get your hands on a very cool piece of history that is so well presented it's even believed to have its original V8. So for fans of the big blue oval, this 1951 Mercury M-1 pickup might just be the most interesting collectable around.

You'll love the way people will approach this pickup thinking it's a nicely presented Ford F-1, and then you'll watch their delight as they see the Mercury badges. This is one of those rare pickups developed for Canadian dealers. The grille coloring, wheel covers, and a bit more intricate trim are the real giveaways to this rarer breed, and so were glad to see them presented correctly on this pickup. And how cool is it to have a tailgate with Mercury stamped in the steel??? But having a unique machine does not mean having a trailer queen. The bright red paint is ready to show off, and the real wood truck bed can still carry a load. So you shouldn't be afraid to drive this one around because all your major components are shared with the readily available Ford F-1 line.

Inside you'll notice the cab has a little extra flair thanks to the full red and gray presentation. It doesn't make this one a hot rod custom, but it does feel nice to have it looking good considering there will be plenty of people wanting a closer look at this seldom-seem pickup. It's an airy cabin that has all the right period-correct features, including an AM radio and heater in working order. And we know you're going to love grabbing that large grippy steering wheel with the correct Mercury center cap.

The 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 was the larger of the two motors offered from the Ford lineup in '51, so this special Mercury has an upgraded wallop of power. It looks fanatically original in the engine bay, right down to the generator and oil bath air cleaner. In fact, it's so correctly presented, it's believed to be the original powerplant – how's that for a workhorse pickup! You won't go hot rodding around in this one like some other flathead V8 vehicles, but the three-speed manual transmission gives you the control to truly enjoy cruising in this pickup.

A unique truck like this deserves a proper home. So if you like to show up in something distinct and talk about it with everyone, don't let this affordable piece of preserved history slip away. Call today!!!
